IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Training and Certification Program
"Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies"
IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, is modeled after IPC-A-610; IPC’s most widely used standard with an international reputation as THE source for end product acceptance criteria for consumer and high reliability printed circuit assemblies. IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the first industry consensus standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation.
The IPC/WHMA-A-620 training and certification program has two tiers of instruction.
• Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) • Application Specialist
CIT Training includes: • Foreword and Documents • Preparation • Soldered Terminations • Crimp Terminations • Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC) • Ultrasonic Welding • Splices • Connectorization • Molding/Potting • Cable Assemblies and Wires • Marking and Labeling • Coaxial/Twinaxial Cable Assemblies • Wire Bundle Securing • Shielding • Cable/Wire Harness Protective Coverings • Installation • Solderless Wrap Successful candidates in the IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIT Training and Certification Program will receive:
• A certificate of completion (not a photocopy) from the Master Instructor • One (1) copy of the Instructor Guide for training Application Specialists • One (1) copy of the student handbook for CIT training • Open Book Application Specialist exams (15 each) • One (1) CD-ROM with: • Set of Application Specialist training visual aids • Electronic copies of all required training support forms
Upon completion of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIT Course, CIT’s are certified for two years. At that time Certified IPC Trainers will need to attend a recertification course to maintain IPC instructor certification for the IPC/WHMA-A-620 course.
